A Clear Scraps Banner for the Big Kids!

I recently had the pleasure of helping in the Clear Scraps booth at the Creating Keepsakes Convention in Collinsville. It was great to show people how fun and easy it is to work with acrylic, and to spend the day getting to know Susan and Jim a little better! Susan had a great idea for a banner for the booth, but her travel schedule is in full swing so she didn't have the time to work on it. She asked me if I would do a special project for her. Well….when the boss asks…..how could I possibly say no?!!
My assignment…..a banner to hang over the make-n-take booth that said "Adult Daycare". So here it is!!

I used the large banner pieces from the Clear Scraps Store.  The lettering was done by tracing some funky fonts on the front of the banners with a fine tip black Sharpie.  Then I daubed gold metallic alcohol ink on the backside behind the letter.  Followed by a mix of "Stream" and blue alcohol inks on the rest of the banner pieces – again on the backside.
Since this will be hanging away from a wall, I wanted it to be a little more opaque to intensify the colors a bit.  I used a paint sponge and metallic pearl acrylic paint on top the alcohol inks (the backside of the banner pieces).
I embellished the pieces with glitter pens, swirls of pearls and ribbon.
Check out this banner and many many other acrylic projects in the Clear Scraps Booth!  Visit the Clear Scraps Page to see if they will be near you!!
Happy Creating!
