Compressed Air and Alcohol Ink Backgrounds

Hi everyone! Wendy here with a cool technique that I just learned using compressed air and alcohol inks with acrylic.

Clear_scraps_feb14_winter layout_wprice2Instructions:

1. Remove protective film from Clear Scrap acrylic.

2. Drip alcohol ink onto acrylic. (I found it was easier to work one drop at a time)

3. Hit with a blast of air from compressed air can and watch the alcohol ink spread out.

4. Continue to add drips of alcohol ink and blasts of air filling acrylic with color. You can also experiment with adding drops of blending solution over some of the alcohol ink background.

note: I chose to leave the protective film on the front side of the acrylic deco shape. It gives it a slight frosted look which I love and think goes great with the frosty, winter theme.
