Explore: Helm and Anchor Chipboard Embellishments

Hello!  It's Jennifer on the blog today to share a layout I created using the Helm and Anchor Chipboard Embellishments. I even have a fun tutorial on how I altered my chipboard pieces!  Check out the wide variety of Chipboard Embellishments…I'm sure you will find the perfect shape for your project! When I saw the helm and anchor shapes, I knew I wanted to use them with this cute photo of my nephew!

I'm going to show you how I altered my chipboard pieces…I first applied a few coats of white acrylic paint and allowed to dry.

I thought it would be fun to use ombre ink but you can use any ink you prefer.

I turned each piece over and applied firm pressure to apply ink to the surface. I wanted some of the white paint to show so I didn't apply a heavy coat of ink.  However, you can add as much color as you like.

Once the ink was dry, I applied a light coat of  Ranger Rock Candy Crackle Paint. Once you see cracks in the paint, you can utilize your heat gun to speed up drying time.

To add a little more texture to the anchor, I used black in and one of my roller stamps and "messy stamped" in a random fashion. I love how it turned out!

And here are the final results!  I added die cuts and a wooden veneer initial to the anchor to accent.
