Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm back to share one of the new Wood Cards with you today! These great products can be used as a card or mini album; there are many options! For today's post, I used the Thank You Wood Card that can be used as a gift as well!
I painted both pieces of the card with a grey chalk paint; chalk paint works well with the Clear Scraps wood because you get full coverage and it dries quickly!
Once my top card was dry, I used an easy technique to distress the front. Using a candle, (a tealight size works best), I applied wax to the front of the card. I then applied white chalk paint in small sections scraping it off before it dries. I have a short tutorial video below to show you the steps!
For the inside of my card, I used a Silhouette cut file to create a pocket to hold a gift card and tag.
I embellished the outside of the pocket with coordinating ephemera to accent. I also stitched the outside edges with my sewing machine to secure.
My pocket is the perfect size for a gift card as well as a tag for adding a sentiment. I finished by adding coordinating stickers as well as tying bakers twine to the end.
Thanks for looking! I hope this inspires you to do some creating with one of the Clear Scraps Wood Cards! Have a great day!
