Clear Scraps Project Post

Hi everyone!  Laura with you today, and I hope

you all had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

One of the things you know I love to do is

create home decor pieces for the holidays.

Well, Memorial Day is no exception, and

I used the Clear Scraps Heart Medium DIY

Pallet Shape to create a little fun patriotic decor!

Bright, fun and all decked out in Red, White and Blue!

And easy to create too!  First I painted up the heart pallet

with blue acrylic paint.  After it dried, I used the

Clear Scraps 4×6 Star Stencil. 

Love how it has the different size stars as

you work down the stencil.  I applied the paint

to one side, then picked up and moved the stencil

to add the stars to the other side.  I turned the

stencil around to just add more of the little

stars to the bottom of the heart.

Next up, the cute little star shaker!

Love these shakers from Clear Scraps!  You can

find them all in the store HERE.

I used the cute Mini Shaker Star.  Just painted

the top frame with red acrylic paint,

traced the outline of the star on some pretty star

paper and cut out, then layered up the pieces,

and lastly, used some of the pretty

Clear Scraps patriotic sequins,

which of all things are their "Winter Sequins".

The Red, White and Blue make them great

for this project too, and the perfect touch.

Then I glued down the acrylic layer, and then

the red frame layer.  Now that all the

pieces were ready, I decorated the heart

with a few strips of paper and stickers,

then glued on the Mini Shaker Star.

I created a little banner out of a strip of scrap paper,

and then glued it and some stickers on the star.
