Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello! It's Jennifer here on the blog to share one of the new XL Desktop Wood Frames that were released this past January!  There are six designs including the one featured for my project: the Family XL Desktop Wood Frame.  And I'm going to show you the techniques I  used to decorate my frame. 

Each Desktop Frame comes with four pieces: the back base, frame, and two wood ovals to stand your project.  I  began by painting the "family" letters with white acrylic paint. I  did not worry about whether I  had good coverage as only a little of the white will show through in the end. 

Next, I  applied a thin coat of crackle effect to the top of the white acrylic paint.  Allow ample time for this step to dry. 

While waiting for the crackle to dry, I  painted the two oval base pieces with chalk paint in green.  Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I  adhered the two together pressing firmly to ensure a good seal. 

I  also used the same green chalk paint over the crackle effect to give a distressed look. Here is a close up of the end result. I  covered the wood frame with patterned paper and adhered to the wood back.  

I  finished placing a small amount of adhesive into each of the slots, then placing the top piece into the base.  I  then added stickers and die cuts to accent my frame.
