You & Me Wood Desktop Frame

Hello! It's Jennifer on the blog today to share one of the new Wood Desktop Frames! If you haven't had a chance to play with one of these yet, you must! They are a lot of fun to assemble and make for a unique home decor piece!  Even better as a gift!  Today, I  am featuring the You & Me Wood Desktop Frame which has a cute cut out heart frame perfect for a favorite photo!

I  began by painting the word frame as well as the large base oval in black acrylic paint. I  usually opt for chalk paint but acrylic works just as well.

While waiting for my paint to dry, I  used my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to affix patterned paper to the small base oval and heart frame.  I  cut away excess paper with scissors followed by using an x-acto knife to trim the edges. I  then used my sanding tool to smooth any rough pieces. I  also did apply a thin coat of acrylic black paint to the edges of each piece to give it a finished look.

Next, using the 4×6 Butterfly Flock Stencil, I  lightly daubed StazOn Opaque to the front of the word frame.

Here, you can see the end result of my technique.  Also, you can see I  adhered an additional pattern behind the "O" in the You to give extra dimension.

Again using my Beacon Adhesive, I  adhered my heart frame as well as my photo.  I  then added some embellishments from the collection I  used to accent.

Next, I  assembled my base by lining up the openings on each oval.  I  applied adhesive to the slots on the word frame and inserted into the base. A minute is all it takes for your adhesive to be set.

Using two of my hand punches, I  added these butterflies from different patterned papers and adhered the front of my word frame. I  had some pearl accents in my stash that I  also used in the center of each butterfly.
