Back to School Wood Puzzle

Hello friends! Happy Friday! It's Jennifer on the blog to share a fun home decor project I  created with one of the Wood Puzzle Shapes from Clear Scraps!  Most students are back to school (in some form or another) so I   decided to document my kids' photos from last year!  Using the Square Wood Puzzle Shape as my background, I  created a layout that would be fun to display every fall!

I  began by covering each puzzle piece with patterned paper using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive. I  also covered my Square Wood DIY Frame as well in the cute blue gingham pattern.  I  then cut away excess paper with scissors as well as used an x-acto knife and sanding tool.  I  distressed each piece with brown chalk ink before adhering together.

After adding my photos, I  adhered my title cut from the Silhouette with red cardstock. I  like how it pops against the black and white print!

I  utilized the Wood Square to hold my journaling which I  typed on my electric typewriter and white cardstock. I  also added a stamped date at the bottom. The entire piece was adhered with my Beacon 3-in-1.

For added dimension, I  layered coordinating buttons from my stash across the bottom of my photos. This is a great way to give your project some depth as well as use up those buttons!

Lastly, I  used my Big Bite hole punch to thread ribbon at the top of my Puzzle in order to hang my creation.
