Hello friends! It's Jennifer on the blog on the first day of December! Winter is almost here in Central Illinois and today I'm sharing a home decor project with a snowy theme! I used the Bulb Medium DIY Pallet Shape as the foundation today's post and will show the techniques I used.
I began by applying two generous coats of chalk paint in patina. The birch wood of the pallet accepts the paint readily so that is why I did a second coat Chalk paint dries quickly so you don't have to wait long between each application.
Next, using the 6 Inch Nordic Snowflakes Mascil and StazOn ink in Opaque, I lightly dabbed my ink on the surface of my pallet. A non pigment ink is recommended on Clear Scraps products as it will not run or smudge.
Here is a close up of the ink on top of the chalk paint! I really love the contrast as well as the softness of the white!
To accent, I added the Snowman Mini Shaker Shape as the focal point! Again using chalk paint, I painted the top chipboard frame as well as the edges of the two inside chipboard frames.
While my pieces were drying, I used my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to affix patterned paper to the chipboard base of the Snowman Shaker. I trimmed my excess paper with scissors followed by using an x-acto knife and sanding tool.
Next, I adhered my two middle chipboard frames with Beacon 3-in-1. Use care to not get adhesive inside of your shaker to prevent your fillers from sticking to the sides.
I then filled each section with snow glitter flakes and Sprinkles Winter Flake Mix.
I added pink and white bakers twine around the neck of the Snowman to simulate a scarf. I then adhered my shaker to the pallet using my Beacon Adhesive.
Here is a close up of my shaker filler! The blues in the Sprinkles Winter Flake Mix really make the shaker pop!
I then adhered die cuts and stickers from the collection I used as well as created a title with my Silhouette.
Thank you for stopping by the blog today! You can check out whats new with Clear Scraps by going HERE! Have a great day!
