Hola,
Tami here with you today. Thanksgiving leftovers have all been eaten (hopefully) and now it's time to think about the next holiday — Christmas!
Christmas is a wonderful time of year, the scents of evergreen mixed with cinnamon and nutmeg. And if you are in a cooler climate than here in Texas; it also means SNOW!
We don't get that fluffy white stuff here in San Antonio too often, but that doesn't mean I can't create a little bit of it to add to my Christmas Decor.
I love Clear Scrap's Vintage Truck Mini Shaker, it is so reminiscent of Christmas' past. And little red trucks are everywhere nowadays, showing up in all types of holiday items.
I decided to combine several items from Clear Scraps to create my winter scene…
First, I painted a Deco Wood Shape with sky blue at the top and white along the bottom. I added white specks using a splatterbrush to add snow to the sky…
While that dried; I painted the Pine Tree Chipboard Embellishments. I found it easier to paint them while they were still in their frame, so I had something to hold onto. Then cut them apart from it after they had dried. I painted the trees green, then used a flat brush to add "lines" of white to mimic snow on the bows. The trunks were painted brown…
Then on to the truck using the Vintage Truck Mini Shaker. I painted the back piece red, adding a blue window and black tires. The top piece was painted red with black for the wheels and a bit of silver for the grill. Once the pieces dried, they were assembled…
To add some trees to the background, I used Clear Scrap's Pine Trees Stencil and green and brown paint. I used a round sponge brush to "pounce" in the trees…
I adhered one chipboard tree to the left side of the background and the other to the bed of the truck, then I adhered the truck. After the pieces were secure, I used some white modeling paste and a palette knife to add snow around the truck tires and along the top of the truck…
A candy cane striped ribbon bow at the top of the background added the finishing touch…
