Winter Themed Scallop Wood Phone Stand

Hello friends and happy Monday! Jennifer on the blog today to share a technique I used to decorate the Scallop Wood Phone Stand.  Clear Scraps offers both wood and acrylic phone stands as well tablet stands! Because it is January, I wanted to create a winter themed Phone Stand.  How cute would this be sitting in your craft area or on your work desk?  I know I'm always losing my phone especially when I'm crafting!

I began by painting both pieces with chalk paint in grey. You do not have to use chalk paint but it dries quickly and applies well onto the birch wood.  Usually you will only need to apply one coat but it depends on how much coverage you prefer.  I tend to allow some of the wood to show through my paint to give it a distressed look.

Next, using the 4×6 Snowflake Stencil I applied glitter gel in silver using a spatula.  It helps to secure your stencil using washi or painter's tape. One great thing about the 4×6 Stencils is that they fit perfectly on the Phone Stands!

Here is a close up of the glitter gel on the Phone Stand after it has dried. I love the way it looks as well as the added texture!

I thought the paint needed a little extra so I applied StazOn Opaque around the edges using a dabber.

Using Beacon Adhesive, I added patterned paper and die cuts to just above the slot for the stand. I wanted a majority of the Snowflake Stencil to show.

Lastly, with pop dots I added two red mittens adorned with bakers twine at the top of my Phone Stand.
