Hello everyone! Jennifer here on the blog to share a little recipe book I created using the Acrylic 6×6 Tab Album (which is one of my all time favorites to create with).
The star of my front cover is the Mixer Chipboard Embellishment Shape! I began by painting the body of the mixer red, followed by black on the bowl. I then applied embossing ink and heat set my embossing powders in respective colors. Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I affixed the Mixer to the front of my album. Any solvent based adhesive works best with Clear Scraps acrylic since it will not yellow or warp the acrylic over time.
For my inside pages, I cut 5 3/4 x 5 3/4 inch pieces adding layers of additional patterns. Here, I used a 3×4 card to create an interactive flap to hide a tag for journaling or something that I may want to add at a later date.

Here is the inside of my flap where I placed a cute tag as well as additional embellishments.
For this particular page, I sewed a pocket to hold tags which I intend to write about some cooking memories I have with my mom and grandma.
I confess that I had the intention of layering my recipe cards in a horizontal fashion, but it didn't quite work out that way! So, as crafters do we improvise! I punched holes at the top of each card and inserted them as shown. That way I you can view the front and back of each.
As you can see some of my pages are not so much to hold photos or recipes but are strictly embellishments. I had a lot of fun creating in this manner as it is out of my comfort zone.
Here, I used the Baking Chipboard Embellishment Shapes as the focal points of the page. I embellished them the same way I did the Mixer. Again, I adhered the chipboard using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive.
For my last page, I used patterned paper and my Scor-Pal to create another flap. This is a great technique to add more photos or journaling to your albums.
