Hello Crafty Friends!
You know how much I love creating Home Decor projects. Well I have a project perfect to welcome spring! I've chose Clear Scraps new flower shaker Click Here and the Wood Deco 3 pack Click Here
First off we'll begin by decorating our wood deco base. I'm using Carta Bella Spring Market collection, but any spring themed papers will work. I chose a wood grain paper background. Trace around the wood shape with your pencil and cut out with your scissors. Take Beacon 3 in 1 glue and adhere your paper to your wood base. Take an xacto knife and trim any excess paper. Using a distress tool, rub off any excess paper till smooth. Then rub distress ink all along the edges.
Next chose the any embellishments you'd like to use to create your design. I chose some stickers, ephermera pieces and fuzzy cut out the flower pots, and truck. I added distress ink along the edges of my ephermera and fuzzy cut images. The pink awning sticker I adhered to the top of my piece using foam dots. The Happiness Blooms sticker I adhered to the middle bottom area of my wood base.
Set your wood piece aside for now. We will start making our shaker flower. Take apart your shaker pieces. For the bottom base, I chose a coordinating floral paper. Traced around the edge with my pencil. Cut it out. Glue your patterned paper to your bottom shaker base. Trim excess paper off with your exacto knife. Distress edges till smooth. Take your top shaker piece and add acrylic paints to match your design. You aren't limited to just using paints to decorate your shaker. You can use, glitter, inks whatever you prefer. I also painted the sides of my shaker pieces with green paint.
After your paint dries, take your glue and adhere your first two shaker pieces. Next you can add some colored seed beads to each section of your flower shaker. Take your acrylic flower shape and peel off the protective film off both sides before adhering to the top of your previous layer. Then carefully add your top shaker piece. Don't move your shaker until it's throughly dried or else your beads may stick to the sides.
Now take your wood piece and glue your flower shaker to the left side of your piece.
I added a sentiment "Hello Spring" on the right side with foam dots. I added foam dots to the back of my fuzzy cut images as well as the truck. The leafy sticker I adhered below my hello spring sentiment. I scattered a few crystal gems onto my design. To finish my project, I hot glued a ribbon to the back of my wood piece. Now it's ready to display!
I hope you enjoyed my project today and it will inspire you to start creating one for your home. Thank you for visiting the Clear Scraps blog. We love to see your projects. So please share them on our Facebook page! Check out the Clear Scraps website to see all the newest products. Click Here
