Apple Mini Shaker Home Decor

Hello! It's Jennifer on the blog to share an end of the school year project I  created using a few of Clear Scraps fabulous products!  School is out for the summer here in Central Illinois and I  thought this home decor project would be cute either as a teacher gift or to show off a last day of school photo!  I  used the new Apple Mini Shaker Shape as the star of my creation and will show you the techniques I  used.

I  began with the Circle Medium DIY Pallet Shape and painted the front using black acrylic paint.  I   made sure I  added paint to the outside edges as well as in between the slats.

I    set aside the pallet to dry to work on assembling my shaker.  Using red chalk paint, I  painted the top chipboard frame, as well as the edges of the two inside frames.

Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I   affixed school themed patterned paper to the front of the chipboard base.  I    cut away excess paper with scissors followed by using an x-acto knife and sanding tool (FYI, you can purchase this same sanding tool through the Clear Scraps shop).

I    adhered my middle chipboard frames to the base then added colorful chunky sequins to the center.  Next, I  was ready to affix the acrylic overlay.  Last, the top chipboard frame goes on. I  added two school themed die cuts to the front for accent.

I    adhered red dot paper to the center slat followed by ledger paper and a fun colorful frame. I  then added more die cuts to accent before adhering my shaker to the front of the pallet.

Using my Big Bite, I punched holes at each corner of the pallet to thread ribbon to hang my project.  You can also use string or forego adding a hanger.
