Boo Pumpkin DIY Pallet Shape

Hello and happy Saturday! It's Jennifer on the blog with a Halloween themed home decor project!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and I love all things craft related to this spooky season!  I'm also going to show you the techniques I used!

I began with the Pumpkin Medium DIY Pallet Shape and painted the top and bottom sections with orange chalk paint.  I then painted the middle with black acrylic paint. The nice quality about the birch wood is that it accepts the paint well and a little goes a long way.

Once my paint was dry, I secured the 4×6 Boo Stencil to the front of my pallet with washi tape.

I then applied glitter gel in Iridescent with a spatula spreading a thin layer.  I was going more for a white glitter effect but the letters have a more bluish tint to them. I think this is because of the black paint?

Here is a close up of the stencil + glitter gel.  I  do like how it turned out even though it wasn't what I originally had in mind.

I  added strips of patterned paper at top of the bottom slat adhering with my 3-in-1 Beacon Adhesive. I did this mainly to break up the color lines as well as add extra prints.

I painted the Ghost Chipboard Embellishment Shapes with white acrylic paint and backed each "eye holes" with patterned papers.  I adhered the ghosts with my Beacon Adhesive as well as used pop dots to give dimension to one of the embellishments.

I  tied some cute Halloween plaid ribbon in a bow and added a wood clothes pin then adhered to the top of my pallet as a finishing touch!
