Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello and happy Monday!  It's Jennifer here to share one of the new 3D Frameable themes!  If you haven't had a chance to play with these you need to! You can mix and match Word N Shapes with the three different wood frames.  For today's project, I used the Vacation-Palm Tree Word N Shape paired with the Square Frame.  This is perfect to display a favorite trip photo or for an upcoming summer vacation! 

Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I covered the Square Frame and smaller oval of the base with patterned paper.  I  cut away excess paper with scissors followed by using an x-acto knife with a healing mat.  I  then smoothed edges using a sanding tool. 

I  then painted the larger oval of the base with chalk paint in light blue. Any type of paint will work with the birch wood but I do love using chalk paint as it dries quickly and has a classy look. 

I again used my Beacon adhesive to adhere the square frame to the base as shown. I find it helpful to use clips to hold the two pieces together while my adhesive dries to ensure a good seal. 

Next, I went to work on my Word N Shape pieces.  Using a blending brush, I applied Distress Oxide Ink to the bottom 2/3rds of my word.

I then applied embossing ink to the top third of the wood word followed by using pink glitter embossing powder. I set the powder using a heat tool. 

For my Palm Tree, I again used blending brushes with Distress Oxide Inks to color the trunk and fronds of the tree.  

I wanted to add some sparkle to the top of my Palm Tree so I used green glitter embossing powder; I love how it turned out! 

Here are close ups of my different elements! You can rearrange them to fit whatever theme or holiday you are wanting!
