Large Circle Shiplap Welcome Door Hanger

Hello friends and happy Friday! Its Jennifer on the blog today to share a fall home decor project I created using the new Large Circle Shiplap Shape!  I wanted to make a cute door hanger for my front door this year and am going to show you the easy techniques I used!

I began by painting the top 3/4 of my Shiplap Shape using matte brown acrylic paint. I thinned the paint with water so the effect would look more like stain. I love how it brought out the grain in the wood!

Once my brown paint was dry, I sectioned off the bottom third of the Shiplap Shape with painters tape.  I then applied nice, rich shade of yellow acrylic paint as shown.

I set my Shiplap Shape aside to dry to work on my Welcome XL Script Wood Word.  I applied a coat of off white chalk paint to my title not being concerned about full coverage.

Once my paint was dry, I lightly sanded the edges of my Wood Word as well as the front surface.

I adhered my Wood Word using a hot glue gun centering it on my Shiplap Shape.

Here is a close up of the Wood Word; you can see how some of the wood shows through the paint.

I also used my hot glue gun to adhere fall colored flowers and ribbon to the top of my Shiplap Shape. I finished by stringing some wood beads onto wire and creating a U shape to hang my creation.  I adhered it to the back of the Shiplap using double sided tape and my hot glue gun.
