Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello everybody!  Laura here with you today!  Who's ready to decorate for the holidays?  It's such a great time of year, and there is nothing better than homemade goodies, and that includes decor for your home or as a gift for friends and family!  So let's get started with some inspiration using one of my faves, a Clear Scraps Rectangle/Square Printer Tray Frame!

These are so fun to create, and the ability to put layers both under and on the clear acrylic is one of the things I love about them!

Here at the top–the frame was painted with black acrylic paint, and while it dried, I cut out the different pretty holiday papers to add to each frame.  Here's a tip: rather than try to get the cut exact, cut the paper about 1/4 inch larger all around and glue it to the back of the first frame layer you'll glue down on the solid back layer.  Makes things so much easier!   You can also see the layering–the corner, some little hearts on on top of the acrylic, while the Santa, December, trees, are under the acrylic layer.

Clear Scraps has the perfect embellishments that you can customize to your project!  This upper right corner has the Mini Shaker Tall Bulb that's painted with brown and gray acrylic paint, dabbed with white paint to give it a snowy look, and then embellished with Santa paper, stickers and the Holiday Sequins and Fall Sequins mixed.  The Xmas Bulb Chipboard Embellishments are painted in pretty shades of green acrylic paint and lightly "frosted" around the edges with white paint.  Twine bows finish all the ornaments off.

You don't need to do a lot of decorating to each square either.  I cut out this Home for Christmas sentiment journal box (these fit perfectly!) and then added more of the Holiday and Fall Sequin mixes.  To see all of the Sequins and Fillers Clear Scraps has in the store, you can find them HERE.

Well we all know Santa needs his sleigh and reindeer, so the Clear Scraps Sled Chipboard Embellishment is just perfect to put with Santa, his reindeer and a few decorative stickers.  The sled was painted with green and gray acrylic paint and brushed with white.  Are YOU on the naughty or nice list?  Find all the chipboard shape embellishments right HERE.
