Hi there everyone! Laura here with you today to get you started on those summer projects! Memorial Day is right around the corner, and the picnics, vacations, pool time and all kinds of fun in the sun is coming our way! The Clear Scraps Changeable Frames are a great way to share those summer memories with home decor!
This project starts with the Base with Scallop Frame in the 3D Changeables collection from Clear Scraps. There are several fun options for the bases and you can choose your fave. You can find them in the Clear Scraps store HERE. One of the best part of this collection is the ability to mix and match the bases/frames and the word and shape that you'd like!
They are super easy to put together too! You can mix it up by using paint, ink, stain, pretty paper, time to get creative!
Here I used patterned paper for the bottom layer on the base, just trace, cut out and glue down. The same paper was used to carry that pattern thru to the background in the frame. I kept the top layer of the base with just acrylic paint, but I brushed a bit of contrasting paint around the edge. I did this around the paper layer as well. It gives it a nice finished look.
The Clear Scraps coordinating Word n Shape Summer Flip Flops was used and "summer" painted with yellow acrylic paint, and the flip flops with blue brushed with green (the reverse of the base). A couple of flower add a little fun texture and color to the flip flops.
The frame was painted green as well, and then it was embellished with some fun summer themed stickers and cut outs. The summer square and the stickers in the lower right corner were all popped up with foam tape. Always fun to give a project a little more dimension! It's all ready for a favorite picture from our vacay!
