Hello Craft Friends!
I'm Dana and I'm back to share a Spooky fun Halloween project today. I'm using Clear Scraps Circle Printer Tray, Click here Bats Click here and Jack-O-Lantern chipboard embellishments Click here and this fun Mini Shaker Spider Click here sure to give you the spooks!
To start this project, we'll start decorating our chipboard Bat and Jack-O-Lantern Embellishments. For the Bat chipboard piece I I applied black ink to the surface. I sprinkled on some Black Sparkle embossing powder over the top. Shake off any excess embossing powder. Then emboss with my heat gun. Set aside.
For my Jack-O-Lantern i applied some acrylic paint orange on my pumpkin face and Green Lucia's Smooch paint on the stem. Let dry. Once my Jack-O-Lantern chipboard piece has dried, I applied some Stickles Orange Peel glitter on top. This adds a nice touch of Sparkle to my pumpkin face.
Take your bottom mini shaker spider and paint the bottom legs and top shaker piece with some black acrylic paint. Let dry.
Next I traced around my bottom shaker spider piece onto a patterned paper. I cut it out, glued in place and using my xaco knife, i trimmed away any excess paper. You can use a Distress tool to smooth any rough edges from around your shaker piece. I also recommend using Beacon glue to adhere all your chipboard shaker pieces and embellishments.
Now take your next 2 chipboard shaker pieces and glue onto your bottom shaker piece. Then fill your shaker with sequins as I did here, or beads, etc. Take your acrylic piece and peel off the protective film from both sides before gluing in place. Glue your top shaker piece in place. Set aside to throughly dry before shaking! I glued acouple tiny goggle eyes on the bottom of my spider. Here's a photo!
Set these pieces aside. Next we will work on our printer tray. Taking the top printer tray chipboard piece, I cut some border strips from scrap paper and glued onto the front Divider sections on my tray.
For the outside circle, I applied orange ink all around the edge.
Now I go through my paper pack and chose which papers I want to use to decorate each window section on my tray. I using papers from Carta Bella "Hocus Pocus" collection. I traced and cut out and glued my decorative papers behind each window. I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife. Here's acouple closeups!
Now the fun begins! We can chose what additional embellishments we want to use to decorate our tray. I used stickers, a broom and ephemera pieces in addition to my Clear Scraps Chipboard Embellishments and mini shaker. After I decide on their placement, I glued and adhere everything in place.
My mini shaker spider I attached at the top of my tray.
The Jack-O-Lantern chipboard embellishment I glued along the bottom right corner and using foam dots, I added a sentiment that I cut out from one of the Journaling cards from the paper pack. Here's a photo!
The Bat chipboard piece I adhered on the bottom and glued a October 31 ephemera piece. Here's a closeup photo!
To finish my printer tray, I twisted 2 pieces of orange stems together and glued around the edge of my Circle Printer Tray. I used a total of 6 stem pieces. You can ads a metal hanger onto the back of your tray or add ribbon or jute cord. Now it's ready to display!
