Hi all! Do you keep scraps of paper for that “just in case” project ? I fell in love with the Graphic 45 Hello Pumpkin line and after making a few projects with it, I kept the scraps “just in case”. Using some scraps, I decided to make an ornament using the Circle shaker.

First step I did was to measure the paper. I placed the circle chipboard onto the paper, traced around the chipboard and then cut the paper. After cutting, I glued the paper to the circle chipboard and then I grabbed a file and smoothed the edges of the chipboard. I like using a file to get smooth edges for a cleaner and defined look. For the 3 chipboard rings that help to create the depth of the shaker, I painted the bottom 2 green and the top one orange.

Digging through my stash of sparkles, rhinestones and other shiny things, I chose a few colors and gathered 3-4 pieces of each color and placed them on top of the chipboard circle. I then stacked 2 of the rings on top of the circle ( I didn’t glue down yet), then placed the acrylic circle on top to make sure the sparkles, rhinestones etc weren’t too big. I wanted to make sure there was going to be an even layer so that the shaker is sealed and nothing falls out.

Once I had the rhinestones etc picked out, I stacked and glued 2 rings together. I added in a couple of flowers before adding the acrylic to the ornament. Then I removed the film from the acrylic piece (very important step to not skip) and glued it to the top of the 2 circles. Finally I glued the last circle on top of the acrylic piece.
I felt that the ornament needed a little more pizzazz. So I went digging through my fall goodies and found that I had a few fall floral stems and I found one that had acorns on it. I decided cut one off and add it to the top of the ornament along with a sunflower and a sticker from the Hello Pumpkin collection. I glued the pieces down using 3 in 1 glue.

Finally I found some ribbon, stapled the ends together and glued it to the back of the ornament. I hope I have inspired you to make your own shaker ornament. Thank you for looking!
