Hi there everyone! Laura here today with a spooktacular fun home decor project to jump-start that Halloween creativity!
Have you seen this adorable Standing House Wood Decor in the Clear Scraps Store? It's a great base for SO many home decor display ideas!!! This little house could be used to create holidays decor, for events, or used as a unique picture display! With fall in the air and Halloween just around the corner, I thought it was the perfect time to create this cute little "haunted house"!
The house shiplap shape has a piece attached to create the stand–but has the crosspiece separate so you can remove for flat storage! It also comes with the scroll design accent and the little wooden knob too! I used a mix of acrylic paint and then patterned paper to make the base. The scroll piece and knob were painted black and then brushed with silver wax to give it a vintage/spooky vibe. The haunted sign is a foam sticker on black cardstock matted on patterned paper. And what haunted house doesn't have a few ghosties?
In addition to a foam sticker ghost, the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Ghost is a perfect addition! The top frame was painted with black acrylic paint, and while it dried, I traced the ghost shape onto this fun ghost paper, cut out and glued to the back, then glued the frame layers. Sequins were added before the acrylic layer went down. Remember to remove the protective plastic coating from BOTH sides before you glue it down! Then the frame is glued on and a few stickers added.
The project is finished off with a few more sticker and paper embellishments.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! The inspiration keeps coming, so make sure to stop by again soon!
