Hi there everyone!  Laura here to share a fun fall card idea with you today!

Making some simple cards to have on hand when you want to send a thank you or thinking of you card is always a great idea.  It's also a perfect way to use up your scraps from doing other projects like LO's or home decor.  This particular card starts with a black A2 base (5&1/2" by 4&1/4").  The terracotta color cardstock mat is cut to 5&1/4"by 4" and then stenciled using the Clear Scraps 5×9 Circle Dot Stencil. This was done using ink and a soft stencil brush.  You could stencil using paint, or spray inks, or even use with texture paste to add more dimension.  A lot of options to play with!

This particular stencil is one of the Mixer Stencils.  They give you 2 options for your projects.  They are a great size for card making too!  There are so many fun designs that you can choose from and several of them are general shapes so you can use them for just about any project.  You can check out all the available designs in the Clear Scraps Store HERE.

Working with stencils is a great way to add a fun element to cards, LO's, or any project.  You can also play with the amount of ink–adding more or less to give different effects.  With this card it's a bit softer at the top and goes into a darker color near the bottom giving almost an ombre look.  The finishing touches of some thin strips of patterned paper, a tag with a twine bow, and a few stickers are easy to layer over the stencil without overwhelming it.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Make sure to check out the stencils so you can make some great backgrounds for simple cards like this one!
