Hello all! Laura here with you today! I've got a scrapbook LO idea for all those winter or cozy snuggle time pics you'll be scrapping!
The base for this scrapbook page started with a patterned mixed media paper. I wanted to add the feel of an icy texture and believe it or not, the Clear Scraps 5×9 Stones Stencil had the perfect look to it!
I worked around the edge of the page, just using a soft brush and some gray ink. I moved the stencil around to cover the corners.
I used a little more ink in some spots to give it some more depth. Doesn't it remind you of icicles or cracks in a sheet of ice? Cool effect for a winter LO!! Whenever you use stencils, don't be afraid to think outside the box. Just because this stencil is called the "Stones" stencil, you are really only limited by your own imagination! Part of why the mixer stencils are so much fun! You can find this stencil and so many more in the Clear Scraps store right HERE.
After stenciling and then layering in some patterned papers and a photo mat, I wanted an embellishment to match, and the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Snow Globe was a perfect fit!
I painted the frame with black acrylic paint and then when it was dry, I stamped it with a script stamp using aqua acrylic paint. While that all dried, I traced and cut out the globe portion using a snow scene patterned paper and glued it to the back of the globe. Next the frame layers were glued on, and before the acrylic layer I added a winter mix shaker filler. I added an organza bow, and a few pieces of ephemera and bling as the final finishing touches.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
