He'll Craft Friends!
Dana here! Fourth of July will be here before we know it. It's a good time to create albums to now so they are ready to add your patriotic photos celebrating with family and friends.
Today's project features Clear Scraps newest Chipboard Layered Star album Click here
This album is perfect for 4th of July photos! I'll also be using Clear Scraps July 4th chipboard word title Click here and Multistars chipboard embellishments Click here
The papers I chose are from Frank Garcia's "Americana" collection. But use any papers you have in your stash.
To begin our project, I covered all my album pages with assortment of patterned papers. Remember to punch all your holes on the side of all your papers before gluing! I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife and distressed any rough edges using my Clear Scraps sanding tool Click here
I recommend using Beacon glue to adhere your papers to your chipboard album pages. For the front cover Star shape I didn't cut away my paper from the inside of my Star shape. Here's a photo:
Set album aside for now. Cut apart your chipboard stars from the frame. (I like to save the outside frame for future projects) Take some red and white acrylic paints and apply to both cutout star chipboard pieces. Make sure to the the sides and inside points. Set aside to dry. The July 4th chipboard word title below:
I applied Versamark Clear ink and sprinkled some Sparkle blue embossing powder. Then heat with my embossing heat tool. See photo:
The other two chipboard stars, I covered them with tiny star patterned paper and trimmed away any excess paper from each star. Then used my sanding tool to smooth any rough edges. See photo:
Set the stars aaside.Next I fussycut several images, sentiments and tags from my element sheets and some journal cards. We may not use all of them but you can save for future projects.
Front cover: I took a small white paper doily and cut it in half. Then cut out a journal card and applied foam tape onto the backside, I adhered my journal card towards the left side, gluing my doily pieces behind my journal card. Now take one of your multi stars chipboard (one covered with tiny stars paper) glue in the center of your star on the front album piece. I did plan out the placement of my embellishments for page 2 so they would be visible when your album is closed. See photo:
Back of front cover: I glued the other multi star chipboard in the center of the star on your page. On each star point, I applied some enamel dots. Then taking another journal card, I score 1/2 inch on the right side and adhered to my page as a flip page. Underneath I glued another journal card with the patriotic lady, a sentiment strip above my photo. On the opposite side, I cut a piece of tiny star paper and glued in place. You could add another photo here if you like. Here's acouple photos:
Page 2: I glued another journal card slightly tilted onto the left side of my album page. I cut a sentiment piece and glued at the top. I fussycut the 1776 star from my sticker sheet and glued in the right upper corner. I glued a blue star button towards the bottom edge and applied a few sticker flag sentiments. Here's a closeup look:
Page 3: I added a photo centered, a fourth of July sentiment sticker above my photo and a few fussycut stars glued on the left side of my album page. Here's a photo:
Page 4: Take a strip of 4 Journaling cards measuring 12 x 4 inches. Now lay across your score board. Score at 3, 6, & 9 inches.
Fold to create an accordian pull out page. I glued onto my page, see photo:
and secured my flip book shut with a paper clip. I glued my last two Multistars chipboard embellishments to my page, one at the top and the other at the bottom. I applied acouple stickers in the center of my chipboard stars, along with another sentiment sticker on the right center of my album page. Here's acouple more photos:
Page 5: I took some white cardstock and cut to measure 4×4. I glued my photo mat in the center of my page. I glued my chipboard July 4th words title at the top edge of my photo mat. I applied some stickers.
Page 6: I cut another photo mat and glued onto my page. With foam dots on the backside, i adhered the fussycut image with the patriotic guy. I added a car/flag sticker on the lower left corner. I glued a fussycut sentiment at the top. Here's a photo:
To finish my album, I took 4 metal rings and attached all my pages together. Then I tied some red tulle and blue ribbons onto each metal ring. Here my finished album:
Now your album is finished and all ready to add all your 4th of July photos inside!
