Hello, friends, and a joyous autumn to you all! As the crisp, cool breeze ushers in my favorite season, I’m thrilled to dive into the decorating spirit. I’m savoring a cherished memory of my little one at age 3, joyfully selecting pumpkins to paint for our front porch. To immortalize this sweet moment, I’ve used a charming shiplap cutting board and the enchanting Graphic 45 Autumn Greetings paper line. Here’s to celebrating the season’s magic!
Before diving into painting the cutting board, I meticulously laid out my design and trimmed my picture to the perfect size. I wanted to ensure that everything flowed seamlessly before committing to painting and gluing down the die-cuts and flowers.
Next, I coated the cutting board with brown Unicorn Spit. I adore using Unicorn Spit over traditional paint because it delivers vibrant, rich colors, dries swiftly, and has a delightful lavender scent. After painting, I applied a damp paper towel and gently wiped it across the surface to achieve a beautifully washed, weathered look.
Next, I took Tim Holtz’s Vintage Photo ink and carefully distressed the edges of the frame and three die-cut pieces, adding a touch of vintage charm. Finally, I added a touch of charm by tying a ribbon around the top of the cutting board. I’m thrilled with how this quick and easy project turned out! I hope you feel inspired to pick up some paints, fall-themed scraps, and create your own unique home décor piece.
