Hello and Welcome here Craft Friends!
My name is Dana. Today I have a fun Halloween project to share. I am using one of the new Clear Scraps Shadow Box 6×6 Click here and these Spooky spectacular Embellishment Chipboard Punchouts! Click here
I'll be using a variety of patterned papers from Tim Holtz idea-ology Backdrops and Simple Stories Vintage Scary Stories collection! I think these would make a great gift idea for anyone who loves Halloween and the perfect Home Decor piece to use every year.
To start I removed all my Clear Scraps Wood shadow box pieces and laid them out on my work surface, in the correct order. See photo:
Taking my Beacon glue (I recommend using this adhesive for wood and chipboard. It's super strong and sturdy so your pieces stay intact. This is how my shadow box looks after I have glued all the pieces in place.
Set your shadow box aside for now. Take your Chipboard Punchouts and punch out the Spider, spider web, Jack-O-Lantern Trick or Treat and EEK sentiment pieces. You can decorate these chipboard Punchouts with inks, embossing powders, markers, paints and glitter. I had fun creating mine. I used some Smooch inks to color my Spider, EEK and Jack-O-Lantern.
Spider: I covered the surface with Tuxedo black Smooch ink. Let dry. See photo
Jack-O-Lantern: on the stem I applied Green Apple Smooch ink and on my pumpkin I used Carrot Smooch ink. After my pumpkin dried, i brushed some Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle pen to add some shimmer. See photos:
On the sentiment EEK, I aapplied Smooch ink- Sugarberry
Spider web: I applied some Versamark Clear ink and sprinkled over the top Star dust Embossing powder. Then used my heat gun to emboss the surface.
Trick or Treat sentiment I applied some Versamark Clear ink and sprinkled some Copper Embossing powder over top. Heat emboss with your heat gun. Here's a photo of all my chipboard Punchouts:
Set aside your chipboard Punchouts. Next we will cover the outside, Backside and inside shadow box sections. You can paint your box if you like but I'm using decorative patterned papers.
Backside I cut one total paper to measure 6×6 inches. Adhere with Beacon glue. See photo:
On the outside panels, including the bottom I cut a total of 4 papers to measure 6 x 1 & 3/4 inches. Adhere with Beacon glue. photos:
Inside back sections measure: 2 & 5/8 x 2 & 1/4 inches. Inside panels and bottom panel measure 2 & 3/4 x 1 & 1/2. Adhere all papers as previously. After all my papers were glued in place, i applied several Washi tapes to cover all the front sections See photo:
Now we can start decorating each section of our shadow box! This is my favorite part.
Top Right Section: I glued my Trick or Treat chipboard sentiment on the back inside section. I added a two candycorn stickers and lollipops! Then I glued a Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper doll on the left edge.
Bottom right section: I glued the EEK chipboard sentiment on the back. I applied acouple bat sticker, Scary old woman photo using foam dots and sticker sentiment. Here's a photo:
Right upper section: I adhered the spider using foam dots on the back wall. I glued the spider web on the upper corner and glued a Tim holtz idea-ology metal spider on top of the chipboard spider web!
Right lower section: With foam dots I adhered the Jack-O-Lantern, a sentiment and Halloween brad. To finish I added a few Tim Holtz Idea-ology Screwheads to 3 corners Here's a photo:
Now our Shadow box is finished! Here's another closeup look:
