Heart Shaker Tag

Hi friends! Melissa Minor @CardsbyMelissaMinor here on the Clear Scraps blog today. I'm sharing a project I made with the Heart Shaker Tag. This tag can be used for a variety of things. You can add to a tiered tray, a gift bag, or even a scrapbook page.

I started by using the tag as a template. I traced the outline onto a beautiful heart patterned paper. I adhered the paper to the chipboard tag using Matte Modge Podge. While that was drying I painted each of the heart outlines with black paint.

After everything was dry I sanded the edges of the paper down to fit snuggly against the tag. Next I started working on my heart shaker. I removed the protective film covering from both sides of the clear heart pieces. I adhered one of the clear pieces to the black painted heart. I repeated this process so that I'd have one for the back and one for the front of the shaker tag. I used wet tacky glue and glued the clear cover onto the back of the tag. I then layered up the black hearts to form a well on the top of the tag. I filled the heart shaker with gorgeous sequins. I have some in silver, black, white, and red heart shaped. Next I adhered the cover to the tag.

Next I started embellishing the tag. I pulled out sone paper flowers and leaves. I used heavy gel matte to adhere the flowers. I added a few stickers to the top that say Love You So Much! I rubbed a little distress oxide ink in the color black soot around the entire tag for a distressed look. I finished the project by adding a black and white polka dot ribbon to the top and tying a bow.
