Hello crafty friends, Jennifer here! Today I’m sharing this fun and festive mini birthday album. I used a 5×7 chipboard album as my base and decorated the cover with the “Birthday” and balloon chipboard pieces to really set the celebratory tone.

I started by carefully choosing the perfect paper for each page, making sure the colors and textures complemented one another. I traced, cut, and trimmed everything down with my trusty X-Acto knife to get clean, precise edges.
Once the pages were shaped, I inked all the edges with brown ink to create that soft, vintage finish and add depth. For the cover, I added the “Birthday” and balloon chipboard pieces to give it dimension and a playful touch. To make the word stand out even more, I sprinkled light blue sand over it, adding texture and a subtle pop of color.
Once all the pieces were covered, the fun part began — embellishing and decorating! This is where the album really starts to come to life. I layered embellishments to add depth and interest while keeping the design cohesive.
Throughout the album, I included plenty of spots to showcase your favorite photos using photo mats, making it easy to swap pictures in and out. You can also create a few pockets to hold tags and journaling cards. These are perfect for storing extra photos, handwritten notes, or little keepsakes that make the album even more special and personal.
To hold the album together, I chose a thin pink ribbon and greenish-blue cheesecloth. I love adding different types and textures of ribbon to bind my album—it not only keeps everything secure but also adds extra dimension and a soft, layered look. Mixing textures like smooth ribbon and airy cheesecloth gives the album even more character and charm.
