Hi there.
There's been a few conversations between the DT's here that there's still a few crafters out there that are "afraid" to touch Acrylics. That they don't know what to do with it.
Well to be honest with you, I too was afraid at one point but not anymore. Let me share with you an Acrylic album I made that I'm sure you'll see very simple in technique but provides a great background without taking too much away from the clearness aspect of the Acrylic album.
My Aero family mini
I used the NEW Acrylic 6×6 Regular Album from Clear Scraps and the only thing I did to dress it up is by adding a lavender paint on it. I smeared it on the back of the acrylics so the sheen/shine effect of the acrylic will still see through the pages. I also added a line of liquid pearl all around the edges of the pages so you can easily see the shape of the album.
I also added blocks of bold pattern papers on top of the acrylics to give it that pop of color.
In the inside pages, I stuck with one design. I also made sure that the placement of my pattern papers are in the same positions for both front and back sides of each page. This way, my adhesive will not show.
A few sprinkles of layered flowers and journaling blocks finished off my book.
As you can see, Acrylics are not as "scary" as they may seem. I say try painting on it today. You never know, you might just be inspired to do more with your acrylic. Much more than I did! It's just a matter of time before you're hooked to the "Clear Scraps Acrylic Albums".
Thanks for stopping by.
