In the tag above, you could see that I've created a burnt look effect on its background. This is a very simple technique. All you need are just a piece of acrylic and some alcohol inks.
I've used Clear Scraps 12 x 12 acrylic sheet and cut it into the size I want for the background. Then, I use Espresso, Butterscotch and Cranberry alcohol ink and randomly drip it on the acrylic piece. After the drips, immediately, I held up the acrylic piece to let part of the alcohol ink flow downwards. This will create some mixture in the colors and random design on it. To create the burnt look, do not cover the whole of the acrylic with alcohol ink.
When it's dry, attach the acrylic piece onto a piece of pattern paper. Preferably a light tone pattern paper such as beige or white. I've also stamped the dragonfly onto the acrylic sheet and cut it out to create the dimensional dragonfly on the tag. I've colored it with Copic markers first.
Hope you all like today's tip. Happy experimenting!
