Clear Scraps Butterfly Mixers: Celebrating Grandma

Hello! We are celebrating grandparents this month at Clear Scraps!  Today, I am happy to share a layout I created with the Butterfly Mixers and 12inch Chevron Mascil!  I cherish old photos and I was lucky to receive copies of pictures of my grandmother when she was growing up.  I wanted to document this picture as a way to honor her memory.

Using the 12 inch Chevron Mascil, I lightly misted my cardstock with Tattered Angels spray ink in Wheat Beer.  After drying, I was ready to start creating my layout!

Next, I'm going to show you how I altered my Butterfly Mixer!  First, I place it in an embossing folder and ran it through my die cut machine.  One of the wonderful things about Clear Scraps acrylic is that it is pliable and can be embossed but also high quality and sturdy!  It's the best out there but I'm kind of biased! 🙂

I then took my StazOn ink in Black and lightly dabbed the butterfly ensuring that all the raised areas where inked.  It is recommended to only use StazOn (or any comparable ink) as it dries quickly and will not smudge after placement.

And here is my inked butterfly!

Next, I took a small amount of Art Anthology Dimensional Gel Paint and lightly applied to the acrylic.  I used my finger but you can apply with foam or a dauber if you prefer.

Here is my finished butterfly! I added a chipboard button to the center to give it some added color.

For my title, I used letter stickers from Basic Grey. I didn't want to have a large title as I wanted my photo and the butterfly to be the center of my page.  I also added a gold foil sentiment from Chic Tags, as well.

Thank you for reading today! I hope this inspires you to do some scrapping with some older photos!  Have a great day!
