Brick Wall Banner

Hello! Raechelle here to share a banner I created using the 5 piece banner and the 6" Brick Wall stencil

I found some Martha Stewart texutred paste at my local craft store and thought that it would be perfect to use with the brick wall stencil.

I applied the texture paste to the banner piece using my fingers so I could hold the stencil down adequately as I was applying it. I think this also created a more uneven texture and better represents the imperfections of a brick wall. Everything washed off pretty well.

Once dry (I let it sit about 24 hours), I used one end of a foam brush and dabbed a light coat of a cream paint atop each brick, not worrying to much about missing a few areas. I then added just a tad of a copper color using the other end of the brush and very lightly dabbed it over most of the raised brick areas. I applied the cream paint over the top of a few areas that were too coppery to give it more of a uniform, yet slightly aged appearance. I found that by using just a tiny tad of paint and some patience, that the paint would not fall down through the cracks and fill in the clear spaces. It did in a few areas, but it wasn't the look I was aiming to acheive. The end look is subtle, but overall is a big difference once you see the white areas.

I then added a few die cuts and other goodies. Here is the finished banner:
