This month the Clear Scrap Design Team is highlighting Beacon Adhesives!

For today’s layout, I wanted to find a way to add a bit of shimmer and color to the acrylic while keeping the transparent quality. The solution…Beacon’s Fast Finish and mica powders! Fast Finish is a decoupage medium for adhering paper and fabric to wood but it also works fantastic as a fixative for mica powders because it is so fluid.

I began by pouring out some Fast Finish. Next I added a bit of mica powders from the containers and mixed them into the Fast Finish. You only need a tiny bit of mica powder. I added a piece of washi tape down the XL Dazed shape to keep the Fast Finish mica mixture from spreading. I dabbed the Fast Finish mica mix onto the acrylic shape with a paintbrush. To keep the mixture from seeping under the acrylic shape, I lifted the entire piece up onto acrylic blocks.

I colored the stamped images from behind with alcohol markers. I also painted parts of the stamped design that would be metal with the Fast Finish mixture.
