Hi everyone! Nancy here today to share with you a fun fall craft featuring Clear Craft Sheets, the leaves embellishments and the 6inch Damask Mascil. I love keeping a stash of Clear Craft Sheets around as they are so much fun to create with.
I began by painting my craft sheet with acrylic paint. I find that pouncing the paint with a foam brush works best for me. But you can use whatever technique you prefer, just be sure to remove the clear backing sheet before you start.
Cut the 12×12 sheet into 1inch strips. I used a craft knife on my self healing mat.
Now, you may have made similar pumpkins with paper in the past. I remember making them with my children when they were younger. Punch holes in the ends of each strip as well as in the middle. For each pumpkin you will need 6 strips.
Next, stack the strips and place a brad through the center holes to hold them together.
Then working around the pumpkin add a brad through the end of each strip. You will need a brad with fairly long tines for this.
Squish the ball shape down a bit, if you like adding a bit of heat. From there, I simply painted the two of the leaves from the Leaf Embellishments green and dragged a toothpick through the paint to add a bit of texture and attached to my pumpkin with a couple of glue dots.
Another glue dot and a small stick I found in the yard….
And finally a bit of ribbon that I died to match.
This project was simple and fun to make. I think the hardest part, the part that took the longest was waiting for the paint to try. I would love to see your pumpkin if you try.
Hugs.
Nancy
