March Tag – Nancy

Hi everyone!  Nancy here today to share with you my March tag.  I made the tag with one of the chipboard tags from the Tag Album and Tag Box Set and some Quick Quotes papers.

I began by cutting out the basic sizes and shapes I would need to create the layers for my tag.  I use a file to clean the edges of my paper from the chipboard so I get a nice clean line

Then, I dry brushed and splattered a bit of paint on all my layers to soften the colors and patterns.

I find that a fan brush works best for me when trying to get a somewhat controlled splatter on my projects.  A toothbrush also works well, but  then I would need two brushes.  hee hee

Next I layered my papers using different thicknesses of foam squares to add dimension.

A few coordinating flowers (these are from Prima Marketing)

And a butterfly (also Prima)

as well as a jeweled medallion.

This tag was so fun to create and left shortly after I finished, winging its way to my daughter at University.
