Hello! Jennifer here on the blog today to share a project I created with the new Balloon Acrylic 12×12 Layout! If you haven't had a chance to play with these fun products, you must try them! They simply lie on top of your background page and you can embellish with paper, paint, or alcohol inks! I thought the Balloon theme was perfect for photos of my daughter's 13th birthday get together with friends!
Before adding my papers, I used four different colors of alcohol inks. A fun way to apply is to simply "drop" the ink onto the acrylic in order to get a watercolor effect. I will also take a paper towel to mop up any extra liquid. Alcohol inks dry quickly as well as won't run.
Here, you can see a close up of the alcohol inks. I backed the Acyrlic Layout with a neutral patterned paper then added in embellishments in each space.
One of the smaller spaces are perfect for a photo or to add some journaling, as I did!
I also took patterned paper and covered a few of the balloons. I used Beacon Zip Dry to adhere and then trimmed with my scissors. Using a sanding tool helps to even the surfaces out, as well.
If you want to add a background pattern in one of the spaces, its easiest to measure out your piece first and then adhere behind the acrylic layout. Also, you can cut your paper 1/4 of an inch smaller and adhere directly to your background piece.
Thank you for stopping by today! Check out the variety of Acrylic Layouts in the Clear Scraps shop!
Have a great day!
