Butterfly Shaker Shape Tutorial

Hello!  Jennifer here to share an easy, fun tutorial with the Butterfly Shaker Shape! If you haven't had a chance to play with these fabulous products, you need to!   They are so easy to decorate and add to a tag/card, mini book! For my shaker, I made it into a fun home decor piece…and I'm going to show you how!

Shaker shapes come in five pieces:  a chipboard back, three chipboard forms, and one acrylic piece.  I first covered my chipboard back with patterned paper using Beacon 3-in-1 Craft Adhesive.  I trimmed the extra paper as well as sanded the edges with a sanding tool.  Next, I took the top chipboard form and painted with white acrylic paint.  I set it aside to dry so I could construct my shaker.

After adhering my first chipboard form, I used my Beacon adhesive to affix ribbon as pictured.  Using my scissors, I trimmed the edges of the ribbon show they would not show once I adhered the rest of my pieces.  Next, I affixed my second chipboard form.

Did you know Clear Scraps sells sequins?   Here, I used the Spring Sequins pack for my shaker.  It's helpful to add them to the center of your shape so the sequins do not become affixed to the edges.

Once my top chipboard frame was dry, I was ready to add some bling!  I used embossing ink and sparkly embossing powder which is a perfect way to embellish your chipboard!

To finish, I added a metal sentiment and baker's twine as well as a metal charm to the top of the ribbon.
