Hello! It's Jennifer and I'm on the blog to share one of the Mini Shakers I decorated for Christmas! Using the Mini Christmas Tree Shaker I created a fun ornament to hang on our tree! And I'm going to show you the techniques I used!
Taking the chipboard base and my 3-in-1 Beacon Adhesive, I adhered my patterned paper to the front of the tree. I then used scissors and an x-acto knife to trim excess paper.
I next used my sanding tool to make sure my paper is flush with the chipboard.
Now I was ready to embellish the front of my Shaker. Using the front chipboard frame, I applied three coats of white acrylic paint and set aside to dry.
Next step is to assemble the shaker! Again using my 3-in-1 Beacon Adhesive I adhered two of the chipboard frames. Before adhering the acrylic piece, I placed a small amount of sequins in the center of the tree. Using a dryer sheet or anti-static sachet prior to affixing your acrylic is helpful.
The last step I did was use some glitter green embossing powder on my front chipboard frame! This is my go to technique for dressing up my chipboard!
Once I had my shaker put together, I applied a layer of paint around the edges to give it a "snowy" look. I then added a metal sentiment and bakers twine around the center.
Last, I adhered ribbon to the back of my shaker so it can hang on the tree! I also added a metal safety pin and token to embellish!
