Making cards using stencils!

Hi, Connie here with a set of cards using the 6" Bird on Branch and the 6" Shiplap stencil both new releases from Clear Scraps.  My inspiration was to create a mini canvas and use it for a card front.  I cut a piece of canvas in thirds and  came away with a 3 1/2" x 4" piece of canvas.  That is where I started~

I stenciled the bird on the canvas first with brown acrylic paint.  I use a makeup sponge to give it a dark to light look.  A stencil brush would give the bird a more even look when using acrylic paint.  The shiplap stencil was used next with black acrylic paint.

Beads and sequins were added for color.  The cards were speckled with black ink before mounting them on the brown checkered pattern paper.  I stitched the card front to the brown checkered paper for more texture.

Once all the steps were done the card front was mounted on the card base.  I used kraft cardstock for this.  The cards are smaller than a regular size card perfect to hand deliver or for a gift bag.
