Hello! It's a new month (already!) and I'm sharing my tag for this month! Here in the US, we celebrate Father's Day mid June so that is what I chose as my theme! And I'm going to show you how I put together my tag! I started by covering a Chipboard Tag from the Chipboard Tag Album with patterned paper followed by sanding the edges with my sanding tool. I set it aside to work on my fun embellishments!
Next, I applied grey chalk paint to the "metal" parts of the tools in the Hammer Set Chipboard Embellishments. While drying, I lined the outside edges of my tag with the same chalk paint. I will admit I have been LOVING the chalk paint with Clear Scraps Wood and Chipboard Products! It dries fast and results in a clean finish!
I wanted to give the grey areas on the chipboard texture and applied a thick coat of Distress Crackle Paint in Clear Rock Candy. As many of you know, Crackle Paint can take awhile to dry so I allowed a few hours to set. If you don't have time on your hands, you can sparingly use a heat gun to dry your paint.
Here is the end result of the effect! I love how it turned out! While my Crackle Paint was setting, I punched multiple sizes of circles of coordinating papers to embellish the background of my tag. A few circles, I "popped" up using pop dots to add more dimension. I debated on whether to leave the handles bare or cover with paper. In the end, I was afraid I would mess up the saw handle and opted to leave it bare.
I kept my title short and simple using white letter stickers over a cute dotted border. I didn't want it to be too overpowering as I wanted the Hammer Set Chipboard Embellishments to be the focal point of my tag.
Now I have a fun tag to place on top of a gift for my dad this year! Check out the large variety of Chipboard Embellishments by visiting the Clear Scraps shop! Have a great day!
