Hello! This month Clear Scraps has debuted a new Creating Made Easy Kit along with sneaks of new products! I'm happy to share my first project I created using July's kit! As you know, Clear Scraps released wood products this past January and I'm so excited to see additional designs from Susan coming this month! The new Journey Wood Album is what I'm featuring for today's post! Along with the planner pages included in the kit, I made a fun summer themed planner!
I started off by painting my Wood Album with white chalk paint; usually two coats is enough for good coverage. I then used the 6×6 Bo Bunny Summer Mood paper pad to cover the front of my planner. I trimmed excess paper with my scissors as well as used a sanding tool to smooth any rough edges.
Since the planner pages are a little big for the Wood Album, I went ahead and trimmed them down to fit. I felt like this didn't take anything away from the pages itself since they are uniform. My advice is to decide where you are going to make your cuts and stick with the same throughout your book. I used an extra large date stamp at the bottom of each page for my dates, but you can use whatever you have in your stash or use your own handwriting!
The planner kit includes stickers to adorn your page, which I used to coincide with events/appointments. There are also two pocket pages which I again trimmed to fit the Wood Album. These are perfect to fit your extra planner accessories such as these adorable stick-on notes!
I left my planner slightly bare so I can go back and add additional embellishments or even photos! I love the idea of a memory planner but haven't quite gotten to the point of where I can add it on to my schedule! Thank you for stopping by and please click HERE for more information on this month's kit! I've also included a PDF for you to print out for step by step instructions on how I put together my project!
Have a great day!
