Pumpkin Wood Accordion Shaker Album

Hello! Jennifer here with my first project using the October Q 2018 Kit!  Fall and Christmas are my favorite times of year so this kit was so fun to work with! I  have to say the Pumpkin Wood  Accordion Shaker Album is my favorite!

The beautiful fall colors of Carta Bella's Fall Break is perfect for the Pumpkin Album! You also receive the coordinating 12×12 Sticker Sheet! I  love the banners that I  adhered across the front of my album….I  added bakers twine from my own stash to complete the look.

Also included in the kit is Guilding Paste from Creative Impressions. I  can tell you this goes on like butter and looks beautiful on the wood! Plus, the jar has a built in applicator on the top!

Next, I  took my second wood frame and added strips of the patterned paper behind the slats of the pumpkin.

When you are preparing to add embellishments to the shaker portion of your album, it is best to remove any static electricity. I  use an embossing sachet or a dryer sheet works too!

Next, I  added some chunky gold glitter to the center of my album!

Now, I'm ready to add my acrylic piece. It is best to use a liquid adhesive and apply it to the wood and not the acrylic.

Lastly, I  adhered my top wood frame that I colored with the Gilding Paste.

I  covered each of my pages with the patterned paper from the kit and embellished with journaling or photos from a recent trip to Utah!  I  found it best to apply my liquid adhesive to the wood page and then place my paper over the top. Once dry, I  used scissors to cut away excess paper. I  also used my x-acto knife and a sanding tool to smooth my edges.

I  used a coarse brown bakers twine to tie my pages together. You can also use ribbon or chrome book rings!
