Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello, Friends! Leah here with you today sharing this You & Me 1/8" birch wood frame! My husband and I recently celebrated 17 years of marriage, so I thought it would be a great time to add something of us to our family collage in our hall. Clear Scraps makes it easy with all of their gorgeous wood frames.

When I received this in the mail part of the letter M had come off in shipping.

You know stuff like that happens, and I still wanted to utilize this cool piece. I took someBeacons 3-in-1 glue and adhered the piece back on, then placed a clamp to hold it firmly while it dried. I also ended up using a Tiny Attacher to stablize it even more when I added the acrylic butterfly border embellishment in the end.

While I wait for the broken part to dry, I take this time to trace the & onto my pattern paper, and cut out to adhere to the frame later.

I do the same thing with the focal frame.

Next I paint two coats of Gesso on the wood frame.

After I apply the second coat of gesso, I allow that to dry and focus on the butterfly acrylic border that I'll be using as an embellishment. I cut it apart in two sections, then using Wendy Vecchi liquid enamel, I outline the shape of the borders.

Once the gesso is dry on the frame, I use distress oxide and Clear Scraps 5×9 butterflies layer stencil to apply butterflies all over.

Next adhere the pattern paper &.

Then I apply glue to 3 sides of the frame, leaving the right edge unglued, so I can switch out photos later on.

Now the easy part, finishing up with any embellishing you would like. I added the acrylic butterfly border and some flowers.
