Clear Scraps Project Post

Hi everyone!  It's Annie, and today I'm sharing a fun summertime sign made with one of the medium wood pallet shapes from Clear Scraps.  With a little paint and a simple sentiment, you can easily turn any of the pallet shapes into custom décor for any season.

I started by painting the entire Medium Circle Pallet Shape with two coats of white acrylic paint.  Once dry, I sketched out the basic form of a beach ball in pencil and painted three of the sections in bright pink, blue, and yellow acrylic paint.

To finish off any uneven painted edges, I traced over my pencil lines with a gold paint marker.  Then, I applied a little gold gilding wax around the outside of the shape with a foam applicator for a healthy summer glow.  🙂

The sentiment was cut out using my electronic die-cutting machine and gold and black cardstock.  After layering the words, I applied them to the sign using strong foam adhesive.  Then I attached a short length of natural jute to the back of the shape with a heavy duty stapler to allow for hanging.
