Glow-In-The-Dark Ghost Pallet Decor

Glow in the Dark Ghost Pallet Decor by Annie Williams for Clear Scraps - Main

Hi everyone!  It's Annie, and today I'm sharing a quick tutorial to make this fun, glow-in-the-dark ghost pallet using pallet shapes and stencils from the Clear Scraps shop.  I'm a fan of both spooky and cute Halloween décor, and I think this piece has a nice mix of both styles!

I started by sanding the Ghost Medium DIY Pallet Shape with a sanding sponge and then applying two coats of bright white acrylic paint, sanding lightly between coats.  This process will yield a nice, smooth finish on your shape.

Next, I painted several coats of glow-in-the-dark acrylic paint over the entire piece.  Applying several coats with ample drying time in between is crucial for a smoother and brighter glow after dark.

I always think glow-in-the-dark features are more fun when you block out some of the phosphorescence with a pretty design, so I taped down the Bat Swirl stencil to the pallet with painter's tape and applied deep black acrylic paint over top with a pouncing tool.  For a cute touch, I added a double bow made from some Halloween ribbon to the side of the ghost's head with hot glue.

Charge up the pallet shape under the sun or indoor lights and watch your pretty ghost glow after dark!  I plan to leave mine sitting on some hay bales in my Halloween porch display for a fun surprise, so didn't need to attach a hanger or a post.

I hope you enjoyed this easy Halloween décor project and thanks so much for stopping by today.  There are tons of ways to customize this fun ghost pallet shape…would you make yours creepy or cute?
