Hello all! Who is enjoying their fall crafting?
Are you making some beautiful fall gifts or home decor?
Laura here with you all today, and I've got a super cute
little pumpkin project that is perfect for your own decor,
or it would make a great hostess gift to take along if someone
else is hosting Thanksgiving or any other fall gathering!
Isn't it a cutie? This starts with the Clear Scraps Pumpkin DIY
Medium Pallet. LOVE this shape! Would make a great project for
Halloween too….I'll keep that one in the memory bank for next year!
I used orange acrylic paint for most of the base, but I left the stem.
In the pic you can see I filled in the stem with green for some
contrast. I also added a little bow with a textured ribbon and
some twine. You can see the pallet slat behind the pumpkin
peeking out in the natural wood. You can use a brush and paint
that right up, but it's fun to mix it up and give a little different
look sometimes. I like to leave that bit of the raw wood showing.
After everything was all painted up and dried, I started to decorate.
To put the paper on to meet the curved edges of the pumpkin,
I started with about a 2" by 8&1/2" piece of striped patterned paper,
so a little longer than I wanted, inked it, then glued it down on the
pallet, and trimmed the edges to fit the curve of the pumpkin. I did
the same with the strip of cardstock and contrasting patterned paper.
Then I added a 3×4 journal card, and some chipboard and stickers
in layers to finish off the project. Cute, simple, quick, and a
perfect little thank you gift, or a nice piece of decor for your table.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you are enjoying all the fabulous inspiration this month!
