Clear Scraps Project Post

Hello friends! Happy Friday to you! It's officially the Christmas season here in the US now that Thanksgiving is over.  Today I  am sharing a holiday home decor project I  created along with an easy tutorial! The new Bulb Medium DIY Pallet Shape is the perfect size to use the 4×6 Stencils! 

I  began by painting my pallet with chalk paint in a dark red color. I  found I  only needed one coat as the birch wood helps the paint go on smoothly. You will also find that the chalk paint dries quickly. 

I  then took a small amount of Color Shift paint in black to paint the top of the pallet. For this portion, I  did apply two coats as I  painted over the red.  

I  secured the Comfort & Joy 4×6 Stencil to my pallet with washi tape. I  then applied glitter gel in silver across the stencil.  I  found that sweeping a foam brush over the top of the stencil after the application helped to smooth out any bumps. 

Here is a close up of the end result! I  do like how it turned out but it was definitely a learning curve; especially since this was the first time I  had used the glitter gel. (I  also found that the glitter gel takes extra drying time).

Lastly, I  used a hole punch on either sides of the top and pulled twine through to create a way to hang my pallet. I  then added a small swag of ribbon and a rustic bell to accent.
