Clear Scraps Project Post

Greetings!  Chris here and today I am excited to share this adorable phone stand I created for Clear Scraps!   Although I do have a confession.  I use this stand to hold my calculator at my desk at work!   The silly calculator was always getting buried under paperwork , but now it has a pretty stand! 

I started by tracing my Clear Scraps Hearts Wood Phone Stand  onto patterned paper.   I chose background papers with a sentiment that fit into the heart cut outs. 

Paint the Clear Scraps Hearts Wood Phone Stand  with paint and let dry. 
After cutting out the papers for my stand I decided to trim away some of the paper so that only the bottom of stand was covered.  I also fussy cut the butterfly to add to top of the phone stand.
I adhered to papers with Mod Podge.

After covering the base, the fit was very snug.  To make the pieces fit together easier, I sanded the edges to make them easier to assemble.
