Home Decor with Large Chipboard Embellishments

Hello friends and happy Friday! Hope this finds you well! Jennifer here to share a project I  created with some of the new Large Chipboard Embellishments that were debuted this past January.  For my base, I  used the 12×10 Rectangle Medium DIY Pallet Shape that I covered with chalk paint in grey.  Chalk paint works wonderfully on the birch wood as it dries quickly and you do not need to prime the wood.

We are teaming up with TapeRunner this month and I  used my adhesive to adhere different patterned papers to the Hello Large Chipboard Embellishment.  I  cut away excess paper with scissors as well as used an x-acto knife and sanding tool to smooth my edges.  I  also added a thin coat of chalk paint in cream to the edges of each letter to help them stand out.

I  also used the same color chalk paint on the Vintage Truck Large Chipboard Embellishment.  Once dry, I  applied a light coat of crackle effect to the surface and allowed ample time for it to set.  I  then went over the surface with more chalk paint this time being in pink!

Here, you can see a close up shot of the finished effect!

Showing the Large Chipboard letters adhered to my pallet! You can see that adding the paint to the edges of the letters helps them stand out even more.

Using two cut files from my Silhouette, I  adhered these rolled flowers and leaves to the bed of the truck.  From my stash, I  added buttons and enamel dots to the center of each flower.
